Job Description Summary:

The Eversource Legal Department is seeking a Transactional Counsel. The Transactional Counsel reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Shared Services. The responsibilities for this position include representation of the Eversource companies in a variety of contracting and transactional matters in the areas of Energy Supply (power purchase, renewable energy and gas supply agreements), Real Estate, Procurement, Enterprise Strategy, Energy Efficiency, and Employee Benefit Agreements. The successful candidate will also actively manage and partner with the company's outside counsel that may be used on such matters.

* Assisting internal clients with contract terms interpretation, enforcement and warranty claims.

* Work closely with clients, other in-house counsel, company management, and, in certain matters, outside counsel.

* Handle other types of agreements from time to time, such as real estate, employee benefits and strategic partnership agreements, energy efficiency and customer service agreements, and agreements with academic institutions.

Technical Knowledge/Skill: Broad transactional and contracting experience required handling day to day standard business contracts as well as energy company contracting matters such as power purchase and gas supply agreements, master agreements and standard contracts for the procurement of a broad range of goods and services such as utility services, equipment and construction, information technology and hosted services. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, resourceful, experienced and agile to handle a broad range of contractual matters. Being a good team player, well-organized, and able to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems are essential qualities to ensure success in this position. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills.

Education: A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.

Experience: A minimum of (5) five to (10) ten years of relevant experience required. Solid experience with power purchase and gas supply agreements is of particular interest.

Bar Admissions: Bar admission in good standing required to any one or more of the following states: Connecticut, New Hampshire or Massachusetts.
