POSITION SUMMARY

The communication consultant will help drive strategic communications for MassMutual U.S. (MMUS) and Customer Experience organizations. The candidate is responsible for developing internal communications strategies, presentations, talking points, and other materials of the highest caliber, and will work closely with business partners, up to and including member of the senior leadership team, to identify communication needs and implement effective communication solutions using both traditional and emerging media tactics (e.g., written, visual, video, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work with business partners, including members of the MMUS leadership teams to identify internal communication needs and develop strategies and materials to implement effective communication solutions

* Serve as key internal communication contact for the business, providing counsel and ensuring consistency and quality of communications

* Contribute to the planning and management of key business meetings and special events, including preparation of agendas, talking points and presentations

* Effectively collaborate with communication counterparts in other areas of the business (MM International, Customer Experience, Technology, HR, Field, etc.) on integrated communications plans as required.

* Develop clear and concise written communications for a variety of internal audiences and platforms, including the company intranet.

* Participate on cross-business project teams as needed/required

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.

* 8-10 years of communications experience, with at least 5 years specific to internal/employee communications.

* Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely on a variety of complex business topics.

* Ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to develop integrated communication plans that take into account the needs of various audiences; work with communication partners (e.g., PR, Field Communications, etc.) as needed.

* Commitment to understanding and applying communication best practices and innovative techniques as appropriate.
