Provide mechanical engineering and design support to maintain design integrity of standard products; provide engineering support to production and customers; lead design efforts to provide special products or design modifications of standard products for special customer needs; assist in the successful development of new products.


* Lead effort with personnel from Marketing, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality and Suppliers in a timely evaluation of requests for change in design of machined parts, cast and molded parts, pneumatic components and sheet metal parts and assemblies used in standard products while maintaining the integrity of the product design and manufacturing process.

* Lead effort to investigate and resolve design-related production issues with cast, molded machined, sheet metal and pneumatic manufactured and purchased parts and assemblies in cooperation with Manufacturing engineering, Production, Purchasing and Quality. Visits supplier production facilities as required resolving problems.

In cooperation with Marketing, Product Support, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, suppliers and customers, participate in the investigation of recurring field failures. Lead the effort in resolving design related problems with cast, molded, machined, sheet metal and pneumatic manufactured and purchased parts and assemblies. Visit supplier production facilities as required to eliminate failures.

* Leads design effort, interfacing with customers, internal and field sales personnel, in recommending, specifying, quoting and designing special mechanical products and modifications to standard products to satisfy customer's special needs.

* Provide proactive participation in product development teams contributing knowledge derived from current products and processes. Participate in ensuring that company standards pertaining to design and documentation are met. Product knowledge gained, as team member will ensure independent sustaining engineering effort can be provided.

* Participate in cost improvement initiatives through the applications of DFMA/VA tools and methods both independently and in support of the company cost improvement program.

* Work closely with manufacturing engineering and production to ensure that all designs, whether generated through engineering change or cost improvement are process capable.

* Create and update documentation, directly through the use of CAD systems. Provide the primary technical resource for the development of Ultrasonics transducers.


Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years experience with machine design. (Bachelor's Degree preferred). CAD design/ SolidWorks experience required. Capable of effectively using DFMA/VA tools.
