THE JOB / Account Trainee

This is a position within the Octagon Marketing Trainee Program. The Account Trainee will assist with the planning and implementation of a large-scale marketing activation at one of the world's premiere contemporary art shows for an established Octagon client. Work will include pre-event planning, on-site execution, event logistics and post event reporting. The candidate must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, supporting the account team as needed. The Account Trainee position will require full time hours, including some weekends, nights and holidays. Projects/responsibilities will include the following:

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn account management, client engagement, event planning, on-site logistics and event activation/operation skills to be able to successfully engage with consumers. The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team and will interface with internal divisions, client partners and vendors. Strong team dynamics skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required for this position. Travel on weekends, evenings and some holiday work may also be required.


* Provide support to the account team by coordinating and executing key program elements.

* Support account-wide event related CRM activities including participant targeting, invitations, registration, follow-up and results tracking.

* Work with internal Octagon team to manage event execution details including inventory of event activation elements.

* Manage documents such as status reports, tracking documents and meeting notes.

* Track expenses and internal processing of invoices.

* Provide administrative support as necessary.

* Travel on weekends and during non-traditional hours as required.

* You have a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity culture

oPassion for luxury automotive a strong plu

* Bachelor's degree in a related field

* 0-1 years work or internship experience in events or a customer-service oriented role

oBasic knowledge of event management is a plus

* Must be at least 21 years of age

* Desire to learn and develop a career in event marketing

* Excellent verbal communication skills

oPresentation or public speaking experience a plus

* Personality traits: confident, engaging, enthusiastic and articulate

* Capacity to become knowledgeable on our client's industry, brand and product offerings

* Ability and comfort level to communicate with consumers, potential consumers or fans in an event setting

* Willingness to travel extensively (including weekends) for weeks at a time

* Strong ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative and solve problems effectively and in
