Job Description:

POSITION: Hazardous Material Handler - Req. #074-2016 Type: Hourly DEPT.: Maintenance - 756 SHIFT: Day RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Support the accumulation, storage, handling, and recycling of solid, regulated and hazardous waste. This includes: providing collection containers in each work area, marking, labeling, and movement of waste to temporary storage, inspection and records maintenance. 2. Perform environmental inspections at all accumulation and storage areas as required. Report any problems or deviations from requirements to supervision immediately. 3. Provide information and suggestions to supervision to assist in review of company waste management practices. 4. Maintain accurate and complete records on all regulated and hazardous wastes generated, including emergency and spill control equipment as required by company policy and local, state and federal laws. 5. Assist in the collection of samples that are required for waste determinations and for verifying compliance with permits. 6. Participate in response to hazardous material and waste emergencies as directed. 7. Support collection and management of wastewater for treatment. 8. Receive environmental and safety training as required by regulations. This includes: hazardous waste management, contingency plan and emergency response, hazardous waste operations, and Department of Transportation hazardous materials. 9. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor. 10. Make recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contribute to 5S program in work area. 11. Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment. 12. Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed. MINIMUM EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:High School Diploma/GED.3-6 years of manufacturing experience; Hazardous Materials training preferred.
