Job Description:

We are currently recruiting a QUALITY ENGINEER for a World Class firms located in HARTFORD,CT. Quality Engineer ?? Supervisory Requirements: - Acts as a back up to the Quality Manager. - Provides indirect leadership to other quality team members and project leadership for continuous improvement and corrective action teams. - Acts safely and ethically at all times and is responsible for the quality department's safety performance. Upholds and acts according to our values, mission, and vision. ?? Continuous Improvement: - Project leader for continuous improvement teams utilizing Six Sigma & Lean techniques. - Completes a minimum of 1 CI project per year. - Aides in developing metrics that track and report status of the overall business Quality Management System (e.g. Cost of Quality, Customer Complaints, etc). - Drives process quality improvements working with Engineering through the implementation of automated process controls, SPC, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques. - Utilizes appropriate problem solving techniques (8D, 5 Why, 7D, etc) to determine root cause and identify corrective and preventive actions. ?? Customer Requirements: - Project leader for resolving Customer Issues including Customer Complaints and Customer Audit Findings and writing summary reports. Utilizes appropriate problem solving techniques (8D, 5 Why, 7D, etc) to resolve Customer Issues in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence. As project leader, reviews complaints to ensure identified root cause/corrective and preventative actions are effective. - Assists Sales and Operations with Customer requirements and specifications. - Interacts with Customers as a member of customer audits and customer visit teams. ?? Quality Management System: - Provides support to the Quality Manager to maintain the QMS including Document Control, Calibration, Corrective & Preventative Action, Change Control, Customer Complaints, etc. - Team member for the Process Change Control Board and works with originators of process changes to ensure conformance with customer and internal requirements, and the effectiveness of changes. - Performs periodic internal audits of the quality management system. Develops and implements action plans to address findings. Participates in external quality system audits including preparation and coordination as required. - Has overall responsibility for the Calibration System. Experience in the qualification and validation of laboratory instruments and equipment for regulated industries is preferred. - Train and inform company personnel on quality standards and procedures. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field required. Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree preferred. Total experience ~ 10 years that include the following areas: Lean and or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or 2-3 yrs of Continuous Improvement experience. Project Management experience preferred (2-3 yrs). Prefer experience and knowledge of manufacturing systems, the quality function and technical products. Further experience with, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485/FDA CFR21, including auditing. Must be able to help us lead ISO 13484 certification effort.
