General Summary This position is responsible for delivering classroom training to new sales representatives on opening and enrolling skills within the territories they support (15-20%). Additionally, the Regional Instructor will be responsible for conducting joint field work with the DGAs, ADMs, and Sales Representatives (50-60%). Regional Instructors will also have ownership responsibilities in partnership with the Territory Manager for driving Management Development initiatives and prospecting activity and effectiveness within those same territories (15-20%). Principal Duties and Responsibilities Within the framework of our District Fast Start program, effectively deliver Direct Sales training to new managers in a manner that is completely consistent with the standard Colonial Life College curriculum. This includes effective delivery of both classroom facilitation and joint field work Effectively drive ADM development. This would include, but is not limited to: delivery of ADM training sessions, leading ADM Builder's Council meetings and initiatives, providing mentorship for ADMs, and driving territory specific ADM communication programs Assume ownership for prospecting activity within the territory to include: leading prospecting sessions that support the "Hard Calendar" system, drive participation in regularly calendared prospecting activities across the territory through effective communication and promotion campaigns, and be an active participant in these sessions Effectively deliver classroom instruction for new sales representatives and new sales managers on basic to intermediate opening and enrolling consistent with the standard Colonial Life College content Conduct productive and quantifiable joint field work with new sales managers utilizing our standard processes for prospecting and decision maker presentations Accurately and consistently provide required joint field work reports as directed Execute pre and post class follow-up with attendees to ensure preparedness and report in on sustained sales activities post class Complete all required administrative paperwork and deliver to the appropriate party May perform other duties assigned Qualifications Job Specifications Required: Prior experience in education, training & development Prior experience in sales within the insurance industry Demonstrated ability to drive and lead company programs/initiatives Previous management experience or demonstrated ability to mentor and develop Sales Managers Proficiency in coaching and facilitator skills Strong organization skills with results orientation Ability and willingness to travel 80% of the time regionally Strong interpersonal skills Meets the standards for this position, as defined in the Talent Management Framework Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively with little direct supervision Solid presentation and written/verbal communication skills Preferred: College degree or equivalent experience Highly proficient in Colonial's prospecting and selling skills Highly organized and attention to details Working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office software and Internet. Ability to instruct on laptop enrollment technology, CRM database system and Internet applications Training/experience with adult learning theory Maintain a positive corporate image and professionalism while representing Colonial Voluntary Benefits both in the H.O. and in the field Meets the standards for this position, as defined in the Talent Management framework
