Overview of the Department: OPEN PRM is a growing organization responsible for the acquisition, development and management of our highest potential and highest spending small business customers. This position is responsible for the overall management (growth, customer satisfaction, and retention) of a defined portfolio of high spending Clients. DMAs will be measured on portfolio spend growth; the retention of OPEN Clients and the retention of spend.

Job Responsibilities:
* Manage the relationship between customers and American Express to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability and retention

* Responsible for revenue growth through value added products

* Realize pipeline opportunities, networking in-market, and owning key portfolio strategies that will yield top line growth for American Express and OPEN

* Conduct client visits regularly

* Utilize consultative selling/negotiation skills to identify Client needs

* Fully penetrate existing and uncover new opportunities

* Develop a long-term strategy for each client

* Resolve client concerns and issues through appropriate solutions

* Partner with a sales support resource to better serve client needs

* Analyze and digest information quickly and make critical recommendations and/or decisions

* Prioritize efforts across portfolio of value clients and collaborate with Director and VP

* Deal with objections and deliver key messages

* Have a growth mindset with the ability to embrace challenges, take risks and learn from mistakes

* Excellent Sales Skills

* Strong consultative sales skills including negotiation, influencing and collaboration skills, and a proven ability to close the sale

* Strong verbal communication skills

* Executive presence

* Effective pipeline management skills

* Ability to develop a daily, weekly and monthly call plan

* Relationship management skills to follow through and motivate clients to take action

* An understanding and interpretation of industry and financial statement information

* Strong business and financial acumen, understanding of business financials and ability to create a financial business case

* Ability to partner with clients across all markets/industries

* Strong computer skills, experience with a plus

* Strong compliance record in prior positions

* Excellent track record from a legal and consummation of sale perspective

* At least 5 years of previous experience managing a large portfolio in a sales role with a demonstrated background of success

* Bachelor's degree preferred

* Experience working in a virtual environment

* Proven history driving sales or account development results, utilizing strong interpersonal and client consultation skills

* Must have American Express account development or sales experience and be able to articulate American Express OPEN value proposition

* Excellent verbal and written business communication skills

* Strong PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint,, Internet) and understanding of information systems

* Extensive travel required to manage team and meet with clients - up to 50% across a geographic region
