Requirements Macmillan Learning is currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated i>clicker Specialist to add to its talented team of professionals. This position has the benefit of interacting with academics, administrators, and educational technologists to incorporate ML's innovative products and technologies into educational institutions. The Sales Representative's primary focus is to drive course, departmental, and divisional sales and growth through extensive on-campus work. The i>clicker Specialist is expected to travel an average of 4 days a week to call on targets during the spring and fall selling seasons. Travel will also include regional and national conferences, sales meetings, and occasional visits to the corporate offices. The i>clicker Specialist will report to the Regional Sales Manager. Responsibilities: DRIVING SALES Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and implement strategies for achieving industry setting sales revenue growth in the assigned territory Identify and develop key targets crucial to sales and growth Plan, coordinate, and execute multiple in-person presentations that often occur in different locations on campus; also perform product demonstrations and training via webinars Manage key targets throughout the entire adoption process-from building awareness and relationships, scheduling product demonstrations, planning presentations, to owning adoption negotiations, closing the sale, and providing adopter training/technical assistance Provide departments with post-adoption in-service training, including training seminars/workshops and technical support Place product orders, write quotes and RFP's, log daily activities and calls into CRM, and handle marketing-generated leads PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE Develop in-depth product knowledge of: - Market and digital products, specifically i>clicker and REEF platform - Product integration with higher education LMS platforms (such as - Competing products, platforms, and strategies - New and emerging classroom technologies - Specific disciplines identified as crucial to regional success and Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, Sakai, D2L) growth MARKET DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING, AND GROWTH Work in conjunction with product, marketing, client services, and external publishers to develop successful strategies designed to gain market share; communicate and reinforce those strategies at regional meetings, sales meetings, and during campus work trips Participate in territory reviews and report quarterly sales projections Provide ongoing research and feedback on classroom technology, trends, and other relevant events in the field, to the marketing and product groups Help establish long-term relationships with key instructors, chair people, and administrators, including identifying and developing potential faculty advocates Work local and national conferences as needed Required Skills/Knowledge: Available to travel overnight extensively (4-5 days on campus during spring and fall selling seasons), and flexibility, based on prioritization of territory needs Ability to work well both independently and with others Excellent organizational skills Excellent presentation skills Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated, fast-thinking, adaptable, and able to adhere to strict deadlines Proficient computer skills, with experience using Windows 7 and all Microsoft office products; apple product knowledge a plus Working knowledge of a plus Must live in the territory (near airport), preferably in the New York, Boston, or Hartford area.
