Pratt & Whitney's Legal Contracts and Compliance Intellectual Property legal team is seeking an IP Contracts Administrator who will report to Nicole Gathy to manage and negotiate key terms and conditions for a range of intellectual property agreements and administer automated tools for generating and managing agreements and IP asset and agreement docketing. Secondary job responsibilities include government invention disclosure reporting, managing contract support services and coordinating contract negotiation with P&W attorneys. The intellectual property agreements can include nondisclosure and proprietary design information agreements to software licenses, university agreements, subcontractor and employee agreements.

The IP Contracts Administrator is a focal for external and internal customers regarding intellectual property agreement issues and requires strong written and verbal communication skills and an understanding of contracts and contract negotiation. Familiarity with and ability to use business process improvement tools and systems to drive continuous improvement to processes is a key element for success. The IP Contracts Administrator is expected to exercise discretion and work independently while still possessing and exercising strong team working skills.

The IP Contracts Administrator is responsible for the following:

* Leading agreement negotiations with a focus on mitigating agreement liability and risk by driving solid negotiating solutions

* Training employees on agreements and use of docketing tool

* Management of agreements and docketing tool to ensure continuous improvement of processes and docketing tool

* Preparation and timely reporting to US Government agencies

* Management of agreement templates

* Development of standard work for negotiating agreements

* Other duties as assigned by supervision.


* Organization skills, including personal and workspace/office environment;

* Time management, including ability to multi-task;

* Ability to take direction and respond to changing priorities;

* Exceptional knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point; Excellent communication skills, including ability to prepare and proofread executive presentations.

* Prior experience working a corporation or corporate legal department negotiating and administrating contracts is strongly preferred.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft?? office suite products; working level understanding of Microsoft SharePoint??; and, working level understanding of docket systems generally.


* Registered or Certified Paralegal with an Associate's Degree and specialty certification in corporate / contract law and/or intellectual property law with 4 or more years' experience or

* Bachelor's degree with 4 or more years' experience as a contract administrator or negotiating contracts or

* Master's degree or Juris Doctorate with demonstrated ability to negotiation and management of contracts
