The Store Manager - Visual Sales position is responsible for the overall success and achievement of their store and specifically the achievement of the store's visual standards, ongoing visual maintenance, merchandise processing and campaign set-ups. This position partners with the General Manager and other Store Managers to support and execute specific store plans and employee development.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Leads the visual merchandising efforts in the store ensuring Perfect Product Presentation which includes merchandise processing, maintenance and merchandising

* Interprets and directs product presentation according to direction from the Visual Sales and Buying Departments

* Responsible for planning and executing all company initiatives and directives (training, visual sales, logistics, staff development, etc.) with a focus on Visual Sales in partnership with the Visual Sales team

* Meets regularly with direct reports to review and approve plans for implementing all Visual Sales initiatives

* Helps develop Visual Sales awareness among the entire staff and evaluates their progress including safety of store equipment

* Manages the salesfloor 10 hours per week

* Works in partnership with the General Manager and other Store Managers on all aspects of driving the business; identifying, sorting and setting goals and priorities for the success of the store including sales goals, elfa goals, average ticket and payroll goals

* Is actively involved in recruiting, hiring and Onboarding, working with the General Manager to identify needs, set hiring goals, plan for seasonal needs and balance the skills and experience needed in the stores

* Actively engages with employees on the salesfloor through observation, conversation and coaching as well as modeling proper selling and visual sales techniques with customers

* Is responsible for supporting store payroll expense plan and partners with the General Manager to use payroll and labor effectively

* Works with the scheduling system and Store Managers to create weekly and daily schedules

* Performs other requested tasks and duties


* College degree preferred

* 3-5 years management/leadership experience

* Experience in retail sales field, preferred

* Ability to travel 10% a year, based on the business needs

* Experience coaching and managing others, including career development, directing and evaluating work

* Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing, internally as well as with customers and outside vendor partners

* Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
