Job Description:

The English as a Second Language program at Goodwin College contributes to the fulfillment of the college's mission and objectives by promoting awareness, respect, and tolerance of the cultural diversity of our students. The program is set up to assist individuals who need to begin or expand their English language skills in order to succeed in the United States. When students complete the program, many will be on their way to meaningful employment and/or further education in which they can offer their services and knowledge to the community. The ESL Department at Goodwin College currently has an opening for a part-time instructor to teach in the evening program. A qualified candidate will have the ability to deliver instruction to students of varying proficiency, both within a class and with different courses. Students come from a wide range of countries, educational levels and language backgrounds. Duties include teaching courses of grammar/writing and reading/ conversation, creating tests, quizzes, and supplemental classroom materials, as well as recording grades and attendance. Master's degree in TESOL or related field is required. Experience in teaching second-language learners preferred.
