Job Description:

Responsibilities:Managing and facilitating the Sanitation Programmanaging and scheduling the sanitation teamTraining all appropriate personnel on sanitation proceduresKeeping all sanitation records and documents and reviewing the same for completeness and accuracy.Conducting in-process verification checksDocuments and Forms for daily and non-daily tasksConducting environmental microbiological testing of plant is required, including:Swabbing samples of food contact surfacesAir monitoring tests in plantEnvironmental drain swabsAuditing pre-operational sanitation inspectionsOperational sanitation inspectionsResponsible for conduction periodic sanitation inspections of the facility prior to start-up to verify sanitary conditions and ensure proper pre-operational inspections are followedAddressing any issues noted on pre-operational inspectionsLeading corrective measures in addressing sanitation deficienciesMonitoring compliance to company product specifications, quality and food safety requirements.Conducting routine GMP and sanitation and reviews of facilitiesAssisting in implementing and maintaining quality programs and procedures. This position requires a strong background in food sanitation procedures and reports to the QA Manager. Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual ability a plus.Ability to recognize the strong point of individuals in the department and to bring to best use for the company.Ability to coordinate staff efforts to comply with company policy.Ability to work in time-sensitive situations with accuracy and professionalismMust have advanced knowledge of effective sanitation standards, practices and techniques pertaining to food sanitation.Must be able to have a flexible schedule (Overtime)Ability to motivate staffAbility to learn and implement and work under Lean manufacturing program.Computer and office equipment skills and experienceLeadership skills and the ability to speak effectively with coworkers and supervisors within the company. Qualifications: Education: 4 year degree in food science or related science field or four more years technical or supervisory experience sanitation at a food plant (preferred Dairy or Bakery) Experience: Previous experience in a dairy or food producing facility under SQF Level 2 or 3 Certification Skills: Basic Computer skills (excel and word) and knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, Food Processing, Food Microbiology, and pest control.
