SIMSBURY PUBLIC SCHOOLS DEPARTMENT OF CONTINUING EDUCATION DIVISION OF CHILD CARE SERVICES JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Senior Aide LOCATIONS: Squadron Line School, Tariffville School, Central School, Latimer Lane School, Tootin Hills School QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Child Care Program Experience and/or experience in working with youth 2. 18 years of age or older 3. High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent 3. Other criteria the Division of Child Care Services Director deems necessary REPORTS TO: Site Manager PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To assist the Site Manager in implementing and supervising a program of basic child care services. 2. To assist the Site Manager in supplementing these basic child care services by including educational, cultural, recreational, and enriching components daily. 3. To implement site program schedule of activities to engage children. 4. To keep track of hours worked on program time card. 5. To be available to work full time hours on holidays, snow days, and vacation camp full day programs. 6. Daily communication with families enrolled in the program regarding children's activities. 7. To perform special assignments, studies, and routine administrative functions as directed by the Site Manager or other program administration. 8. Must attend monthly All-Staff meetings as assigned unless extreme circumstance. (i.e. college course) TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a part-time position, during the school year, including early release, vacation and snow days scheduling. Pay and hourly schedule to be determined by Director of Child Care Services. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Program Coordinator and Director of Child Care Services. WAGE RANGE: $9.60-$12.00 per hour Funding through this position will be through the Division of Child Care Services generated revenue.
