Job Description:

Essential Job Functions: Value Engineering Events - Facilitation and Analysis ?? Facilitate Value Analysis / Value Engineering Events for our customer's products ?? Plan and coordinate engineering activities between QuEST, our customer's engineers, and manufacturing suppliers ?? Analyze product design and manufacturing data to determine opportunities to improve producibility, cost, and technology factors. ?? Evaluate and offer recommendations for vendor selection / transition ?? Develop and implement programs to predict, track and report production costs during the Engineering Change and Manufacturing Improvement Process ?? Mentor a team of QuEST engineers in the Value Engineering process by proactively engaging team members and developing processes, tools and best practices Additional Responsibilities ?? Drive Product Cost Reduction Ideas from Value Engineering Events through Implementation ?? Perform Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead and high capability engineering activities to lead a team in identifying and resolving technical issues ?? Define and status the L2/L3 schedule supporting hardware redesign, manufacturing, and testing. ?? Manage the team's budget and Earned Value based on the L2 schedule, and make decisions to improve lead times and reduce costs. ?? Perform Risk Analysis against program milestones and requirements ?? Communicate both orally and in writing to internal and external customers; strong verbal, written and presentation skills are necessary ?? Interact with internal and external customers, stakeholders, and team members ?? B.S. Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience ?? 5+ yrs. experience with Cost Engineering or Value Engineering / Analysis ?? Event facilitation experience necessary ?? Broad working knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing Processes and Principles ?? SAVE Certified (Associate Value Specialist / Certified Value Specialist) Facilitator - Preferred ?? Project Management / Leadership experience - Preferred ?? Proficiency with MS-Office Suite tools Personal Work Attributes ?? Self-motivated, disciplined, passionate, and organized ?? Excellent verbal and written communication skills ?? Great interpersonal and networking skills ?? Passion for Engineering and Problem-solving ?? Potential for frequent Shop Floor involvement (during Value Engineering Events) ?? Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work. ?? Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures. ?? Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early. ?? Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM ?? Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations. ??
