The Clinical Specialist (CS) is a registered nurse whoinfluences professional role competence and professional growth of learners. The Clinical Specialist utilizes tools, theories, skills and knowledge ofeducation specialty to strengthen the critical thinking and problem-solvingabilities of learners. The CS supports lifelong learners in aninterprofessional learning environment that promotes professional practice andstrives for excellence in all aspects of the nursing process. Possesses a strong knowledge base in teaching and learning theories;curriculum design; methods for validation of learning; research processes; andinnovative technological options.

* Minimum Qualifications:

* Current Connecticut State RN licensure


* 4 yrs of current nursing experience, 2 years must be in an acute care facility

* Demonstrated teaching/ professional development experience preferred

* Accepts personal responsibilities for own professional development

* Demonstrates effective oral and written communication

* Uses effective interpersonal skills

* Certification in Nursing Professional Development.

* MSN, with a focus on education
