About the Opportunity A managed long-term care plan located in New York City is actively seeking a self-motivated and compassionate registered Nurse (RN) for a promising opportunity on their staff as a Clinical Educator. In this role, the Clinical Educator evaluates and creates an infrastructure to support high quality clinical coordination and service through policy, procedure, and practice guideline integration in conjunction with clinical nursing leadership. Responsible for program wide oversight and evaluation of clinical development and training of clinical staff and strategic planners. Company Description Managed Long-Term Care Plan Job Description The Clinical Educator (RN): * Lead the development, implementation, and evidence-based, quality education programs and activities which promote individual development, competency and delivery of high quality clinical service delivery * Collaborate with management, staff and external partners * Develop, review and update departmental training manual, policies/procedures, related job aides and clinical pathways * Educate staff in the clinical policies criteria and procedures of MLTC Care Management and UAS-NY Assessment, as well as an overview of the department, general functions and responsibilities, department relationships with other departments * Conduct new staff orientation, review of care management activities and documentation * Participate in development, testing and implementation of new programs and systems * Plan, develop, evaluate and implement educational programs and training activities based on assessed learning needs of the MLTC/Strategic clinical team * Conduct quality review and audits of clinical team and strategic partners to ensure protocols and standards are being met * Perform other duties as assigned or required Required Skills * Graduate of an accredited four-year nursing program * Registered Nurse with 5+ years of clinical experience and a current New York State license * 5 years of managed care experience working with dual eligible populations * Previous managed care and case management experience * 3+ years' experience in development of clinical guidelines and training of clinical staff (nurses and social workers) on care management protocols * Strong problem-solving skills * Excellent written and oral communication skills * PC literacy * Knowledge of current community health practices for the frail adult population and cognitively impaired seniors and disabled * Understanding of and sensitivity to cultural differences and needs of the community Desired Skills * Advanced Degree
