About the Opportunity The Radiology Department of a recognized healthcare clinic in Westchester County is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a promising position with their growing medical staff. In this role, the Radiology Nurse (RN) will be responsible for assisting the Radiology Department Technologists in various radiology procedures by prepping patients beforehand by explaining the process to them, checking their vital signs and administering IV contrast and medicine, when necessary. Company Description Healthcare Clinic Job Description The Radiology Nurse (RN) will: * Start and monitor peripheral IV lines * Respond to radiology department patient assistance calls * Carry out quality control checks on equipment, reporting deficiencies to proper personnel for action * Educate and counsel patients and or caregivers with the provisions for follow-up * Administer and document all contrast media and medications, including IV therapy * Prepare and assist patients for radiology procedures * Obtain essential information from patients, medical records, and previous scans for clinical correlation * Monitor patient reaction to treatment and change in physical or mental status, reporting change to the appropriate person * Verify proper patient identification * Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working area * Practice sterile technique and prevent cross contamination * Handle other duties, as needed Required Skills * 1+ year of previous experience working within an Emergency Room and/or Radiology setting * Associate's Degree in Nursing * Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license * Current BLS and/or ACLS certifications * Strong IV skills * Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills * Patient oriented * Great interpersonal skills * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) * Strong attention to detail * Highly organized * Able to multitask efficiently and effectivley
