Company Description Healthcare Facility Job Description The Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for: * Providing supervision and providing medication to appropriate patients applying standards of care consistent with good medical judgment and current practice in the psychiatric community * Providing psychiatric examination for the purpose of diagnostic evaluation, determination of treatment needs and prognostic factors * Contributing to the timely production of all necessary reports to other agencies concerning patients who they have examined and/or treated * Arranging for appropriate laboratory testing indicated in collaboration with the Treating Physician and/or conducting any other relevant studies or tests * Scheduling patient contacts in a manner consistent with the efficient use of time, maximizing availability for direct patient contact. * Collaborating with other members of the Treatment Team in providing integrated care * Establishing and maintains appropriate and timely clinical case records Required Skills * 1+ year of Substantial Clinical experience with the diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of Mental Disorders in an Outpatient and/or Inpatient setting * NYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Psychiatry * Experience with the management of seriously and persistently ill patients as well as those with Psychiatric and co-occurring Substance Abuse Disorders * Familiarity with current DSM criteria * Solid assessment and documentation skills * Patient oriented * Great interpersonal skills * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) * Strong attention to detail * Highly organized * Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
