About the Opportunity A widely recognized school-based health center (SBHC) located in New York City is seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a promising Supervising role on their staff. In this role, the Supervising Nurse Practitioner (NP) manages the day-to-day operations of the center, as the leader of a multidisciplinary team, to ensure that all mandated program services are provided. Company Description School-based Health Center (SBHC) Job Description The Supervising Nurse Practitioner (NP) will: * Ensure the provision of care to patients with medical problems * Ensure the development and implementation of a plan of care for each patient * Participate in regularly scheduled consultation sessions with collaborating physician to present cases and seek guidance as needed regarding the care provided to patients * Participate in the Center's Quality Improvement Committee and take the lead in QI and performance improvement activities specific to the SBHC as a part of monitoring and enhancing patient care and other program services * Remain up-to-date on issues pertaining to school-based health center services * Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA blood borne pathogens standards, and Center policies and procedures * Ensure program compliance with regulatory and funding mandates by preparing reports and responding to inquiries regarding the program * Coordinate and collaborate with the Center's Patient Services and the Network's Billing Department to maximize patient services revenue and to reduce dependence on grants Required Skills * Master's Degree in Nursing and Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing * Current New York State Nurse Practitioner License * 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in school based health program setting * Experience in community-based, school health management and adolescent care * Proven track record of organization, attention to detail and ability to respond promptly to requests, anticipate organizational needs, and maintain efficient office operations * Current CPR certification Desired Skills * Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking * Experience using an electronic health record
