CNC Milling Machinist

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented experienced CNC Milling Machinist. Selected applicant will be responsible for operating and setting up CNC vertical, horizontal and multi-axis machining centers. To perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machine ability of materials, shop math, inspecting parts to drawing requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions when necessary and reporting needed repairs. Operator will review setup sheets and specifications to determine set up procedures; read and understand blueprints. They must also be capable of running multiple machines when called upon.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine.

* Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle.

* Using the DNC, loads job programs into the machine control or enters commands to retrieve programmed instructions from the data base.

* Calculates and sets machine controls to position the spindle in relation to the work piece and to regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow.

* Operates machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions, change cutting tools and set up according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blue print specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

* Discusses control media errors with foreman or programmer to resolve problems as well as documents the in-process inspection procedures in accordance with Quality Assurance Procedure 4.10-2.

* Performs routine daily machine maintenance; fluid levels and etc.

* Other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

* Must have a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience

* Must have 2 to 4 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience and/or apprenticeship.

* Must be able to reads and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.Posted by StartWire
