WSP USA's Civil Transportation Group is actively seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer (Senior Engineer) in o ur Briarcliff Manor NY office .

WSP's Briarcliff Manor, NY office has an opening for an experienced Civil/Highway Engineer. The successful candidate will, under supervision of a project manager, lead or perform civil/highway tasks in support of a project's design, including development of horizontal and vertical alignments, grading, drainage, storm water management, right-of-way, earthwork modeling, quantity calculations, construction cost estimation, specifications and utility relocation schemes. The position requires contact with clients and business development activities with state departments of transportation; transit agencies; city, county and municipal governments; and other internal and external personnel.


Lead or support civil/transportation assignments

Perform designs using Microstation, InRoads and/or AutoCAD, Civil 3D

Support senior staff with client relations, business development, client and in-house presentations

May plan, schedule, coordinate and oversee or assist in the management of junior level staff

Coordinate various aspects of projects with clients, agencies and construction staff

Lead or assist in technical writing and report preparation

Possess ability to handle a wide array of projects and multiple assignments

Work with team members to communicate effectively through writing and speaking

Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


A minimum of 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in civil/highway design

Bachelors or Master's degree in civil engineering

Professional Engineer license

Experienced overseeing junior personnel is preferred

Proficiency with applying AASHTO and client driven design standards (NYSDOT, TBTA, NYCDOT) and guidelines

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)

Must be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgement with regards to standard design and engineering techniques and procedures for roadway projects

Effective oral/written communication skills

Proficiency and hands-on experience in Microstation/InRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D

Ability to work in this country immediately required
