Job ID 469983BR Job Location Bristol, Connecticut, United States Category Technology Enterprise Software Development develops and supports many of ESPN's custom business and production applications like NCS, AIS, Playbook, ITK, UAA, Business Intelligence, iLog and the E-Suite of applications.
Supporting many Disney businesses beyond ESPN television, ESD extends their business systems expertise to ABC Family, ABC Cable Network Group, ESPN Internet properties, and ESPN The Magazine - over 2,500 end users in total.
Our team's primary focus is the business suite of applications that support the Content Management, Program Scheduling, Commercial Formatting, Licensing Rights, Payments and Financial applications of NCS.
The intern will work closely with a team of developers to build, enhance and support business application software and services specifically focusing on Sports Content Planning and delivery of that content across multiple distribution platforms.
The intern will have the opportunity to use Java, Java Script, Ext JS and related technologies to build business solutions for a core set of users and product owners using an Agile project management methodology and participate in daily scrums.
The intern may also have an opportunity to contribute to integration efforts that will provide further exposure to interdependent systems.
Responsibilities * Participates in writing code for software programs and systems that meet specified requirements.
* Performs technical maintenance and troubleshooting for assigned systems.
* Implements activities that support parts of the work of own unit, team, and/or project.
* May include analysis, design, development, testing, documentation activities Preferred Qualifications * Working knowledge of Java and object oriented technologies * Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software * Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player * Strong communication skills, both written and oral * Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills * Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills Required Education * Recent Graduate or enrolled as a full-time or part-time student majoring in Computer Science or related IT discipline.

Additional Information Internship Eligibility: * Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship * Must be at least 18 years of age * Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
* Must possess unrestricted work authorization Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10 weeks, and the approximate.
Interns will work 40 hours per week and must be fully available throughout the internship.
