1.Location

This position is located in Simsbury, CT. Up to 50% Travel Required

2.Purpose of Position

Support the Red Jacket Product line technically for domestic and international Sales, Marketing, Field Engineering, and Tech Support groups. Act as subject-matter expert in Red Jacket field applications such as site optimization, flow rate calculations, and installation recommendations to convert marketplace to Red Jacket technologies. Leverage in-depth applications expertise to identify unmet customer needs and adjacent technologies to develop new Red Jacket solutions as inputs into product development processes. Provide global training to field service, technical support, and key customers. Act as technical support escalation point to foster increased product quality and customer satisfaction.

3.Key Responsibilities

* Act as Field Application Engineer & Technical Support escalation point

* Provide technical input (flow/energy/pressure/efficiency) calculations and application information into training curriculum, marketing material development, and key customer conversions.

* Provide specific site equipment and layout recommendations for key customers to optimize flow and efficiency with Red Jacket products, including pumps, controllers, leak detection, etc.

* Interface between contractor/customer/engineering groups during new product design and test phase.

* Provide specific configuration requirements and support regional development of global tender submissions.

* Support education of customers, regulators, and stake holder groups to understand technology choices and outcomes.

* Conduct global technical training to increase self-sustaining knowledge level of regional sales/field/technical teams.

* Become an expert in technical market intelligence/application trends to identify current and future product road gaps & opportunities.

* Improve and maintain instruction/application manuals to ensure correct application/installation procedures for Red Jacket.

* Other duties as assigned by Manager.

5.Measures of Performance

* Safety - Improvement in proper application/installation of Veeder-Root products globally.

* Quality - VOC, field issue resolution, inputs into product development roadmap and process to reduce lead time and increase accurate development of product requirement specifications.

* Delivery - Introduction of product features and reduced time to market of new products.

* Growth - Increased sales of Red Jacket Products globally.

1.Background and Skills

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with Electro-Mechanical experience, or Associate's Degree with at least two years of experience in design or field application engineering required.

* A minimum of (2) years' experience in product application, product support, or equivalent experience preferred.

* Understanding of centrifugal pump operation.

* Knowledge of pump/hydraulics and fluid control equipment.

* Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. Technical writing skill a plus.

* Able to manage internal and external customer relations.

* Active listening skills to understand customer situations.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Working knowledge of computer applications and skills, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook.

* Willingness to travel 25% to 50% of time required.

2.Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Knowledge of interrelations an operations of service station equipment.

* Experience developing and leading technical product training courses.

* Knowledge of Veeder-Root products.

* Understanding of line leak detection systems and relationship to pumping systems desired.

* Knowledge of production practices and test procedures.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities.
