Newtown Savings Bank is seeking an organized, dependable, problem solver to join our Loan Servicing Department as a Loan Servicing Supervisor – Processing.  Under the direction of the Loan Servicing Assistant Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing the department’s daily operational processing activities for transaction processing, loan modifications, loan statements and new loan input. In conjunction with the Loan Servicing Investor Specialists, the position also ensures that all investor processing, reporting and reconciliation guidelines and timeframes are met. Additionally, the Loan Servicing Supervisor oversees the creation and distribution of management loan reports; participates in the design and implementation of new products, procedures, and reports; trains staff and ensures quality customer service.



  • Supervise and direct the processing staff to ensure the daily prioritization of new loan input, payoffs, and transaction processing according to guidelines.

  • Ensure the accurate programming of all loan types.  Responsible for challenging and maintaining updates to programming and processing procedures.

  • Oversee the scanning and indexing of loan documents to Synergy.

  • In conjunction with the Lead Processor oversee the daily Automatic Funds Transfer (AFT) reject process and daily Suspense review and processing. Ensure that all other daily reports assigned to the programming staff are completed and reviewed accordingly,

  • In conjunction with the Loan Servicing Investor Specialists ensure that all daily and monthly investor reporting is processed according to investor timelines.  Monitor investor rejects and coordinate the monthly investor reconciliation of custodial accounts and portfolios.

  • Oversee the participation loan reporting and servicing, and ensure that loans are maintained according to investor/participant requirements and loan contract. 

  • Oversee the daily and monthly reconciliation of specified general ledger accounts.  Coordinate the monthly loan general ledger packet due to Finance by end of month.

  • Ensure the accuracy and timely distribution of loan management reports processed by Loan Servicing. Coordinate the distribution of the Loan Board Report package.

  • Assist in the Jack Henry release process, year-end reporting and any systems integration.

  • Advise and assist with new product development, evaluate systems changes and update procedures.  Develop testing and training exercises to ensure that the system is functioning accurately and the staff is trained. 

  • Assist with examiners during various audits. 

  • Establish SMART goals, perform quarterly goal assessment and annual performance evaluations of direct reports. Coach and motivate the staff to meet the department’s goals. 

  • Keep abreast of rules and regulations related to assigned functions, recommends updates if needed.

  • Promote the Bank’s products and services utilizing Service Plus skills.



  • High School diploma and 4-7 years banking experience, and basic accounting courses and/or 1-2 year work experience in a loan related job position.

  • Possess good communication skills, strong teamwork and a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word applications. 

  • Must have thorough understanding of Loan Servicing functions, understand the core loan system or have experience in other loan systems.
