Come share who you are and start doing your life's best work.(sm) As a member of our core application development team, you will predominantly be involved in building business solutions by leading teams who are creating and modifying existing software applications. You'll stretch your skills and grow your career as a primary contributor in supporting agile team delivery consistent with the established specifications and business requirements in order to delivery business value. This is a unique role where your expertise in agile scrum and servant leadership will be instrumental in delivery success. The IT Scrum Master will facilitate execution and will remove impediments or assist the team in doing so, to allow the team to achieve sprint and / or PI commitments and objectives. They will work to establish a trusting and safe team environment with a focus on problem solving. They will act as a servant leader, lead by example and proactively work to develop solutions to meet customer needs. Primary Responsibilities: * Assist in forecasting and planning resource requirements * Provide explanations and information to others on issues * Motivate and inspire team members * Act as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams within a Release Train * Establish team level cadence and drive team level ceremonies (e.g. sprint planning, team retrospectives, backlog grooming, etc.) in alignment with Program level cadences established * Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the team to encourage adoption of sound agile practices * Be a change agent and foster a 'learn by doing' environment * Encourage and facilitate cross - team coordination and collaboration * Remove impediments for the team(s) and escalate as appropriate * Facilitate management of the scrum team's dependencies between the program team and third parties, release managers or other scrum teams * Work cross functionally to align strategy, methodology and execution * Maintain metrics that provide visibility to stakeholders on team - level progress and quality * Track and manage project execution in accordance with the company's solution delivery and financial management practices Required Qualifications: * 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master * 2+ years of experience working with mixed methodologies (Scrum interfacing with Waterfall) * 2+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple Scrum teams * 1+ years of experience acting as a Scrum Master for multiple distributed scrum teams * Experience leading agile / scrum adoption at the team level Preferred Qualifications: * Agile / Scrum Industry Certification(s) * Experience with CA Agile (Rally) * Understanding of the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team * Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. * Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) * Proficiency with Visio * Proficiency with MS Project * Healthcare industry experience Technology Careers with Optum.
