Overview: GBC Metals, LLC, doing business as Olin Brass, utilizes more than 60 different copper-based alloys to produce specialized sheet and strip products for a variety of end uses. Primary markets for our high-performance products include automotive, microelectronic, and communication interconnects, as well as a long history in the supply of standard alloys in the manufacture of ammunition, coinage, and builders' hardware. We currently have an opportunity for a Plant Manager, at our Somers Thin Strip facility in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Responsibilities: Role Purpose

Drive cultural change consistent with "Operational Excellence." Intensify focus on continuous and measureable improvements in safety, customer service, cost, productivity, and quality in line with Olin Brass strategic objectives.

Core Accountabilities

Lead manufacturing and engineering team for Somers Thin Strip with focus on system level improvements. Pursue safety excellence and culture of proactive employee engagement. Institute team based DMAIC approach to achieve lowest possible manufacturing cost and drive data driven continuous improvement. Resurrect and refocus Management Operating System with updated standards. Structure an accountability system to achieve goals and objectives at all levels. Further leverage collective bargaining agreement to maximize flexibility and efficiency. Improve yields and internal quality through strict adherence to SOPs, identification of top loss issues, and team projects directed at the source of loss. Dramatically improve inventory flow and on-time performance. Support near-term commercial and longer-term strategic objectives. Pursue environmental excellence and heightened employee awareness to drive continuous improvement. Identify, mentor and develop individuals for succession planning. Qualifications: Competencies and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent leadership experience - Bachelor's Degree preferred;
  2. Proven leadership skills in communication, collaboration and accountability;
  3. Lean Manufacturing experience preferred;
  4. 5 years' minimum leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
