Job Description Summary:

Role and Scope of Position:

Reporting to the President-Gas Business Unit, the Director Sales and Marketing is responsible for all aspects of the sales, marketing, and system expansion efforts in MA & CT. The successful candidate is accountable for developing and achieving the Company's gas growth objectives, and for the management of the processes, personnel, and systems associated with these efforts. The Director Sales and Marketing will need to establish customer, load, revenue, and infrastructure growth targets, and focus the respective teams on achieving these targets, including close coordination with the construction operations teams.

Essential Functions:

* Work in concert with the senior management team to establish objectives and develop business strategies needed to achieve the Company's growth objectives.

* Lead the management team responsible for sales operations in MA and CT.

* Direct the marketing and customer engagement analyses necessary to support growth strategies and outreach tactics, including opportunities to improve the customer experience.

* Measure the performance of the sales, marketing, and support/fulfillment processes to ensure they are operating effectively and capable of delivering the expected results. Implement performance indicators and benchmarks, as necessary, to establish sufficient measurement perspectives.

* Oversee the application and enforcement of the commercial terms associated with customer contracts, including development agreements with housing developers, commercial interests, and municipalities.

* Ensure effective coordination between sales operations and key business functions, such as construction operations, engineering, gas supply, community relations, and corporate communications. Develop performance indicators and deploy integrated teams as necessary to support such coordination.

* Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations associated with growth programs, including internal controls and periodic reporting/disclosure requirements. Serve as principal representative in managing regulatory proceedings relating to the operational aspects of growth programs.

* Develop the sales/growth aspects of the Gas Business Unit's operating plans, including growth objectives, operating expenditures, marketing costs, process/system enhancements, and staffing requirements,

* Develop and maintain the sales forecast for new business, including the integration of such assumptions with capacity planning, gas supply, and corporate financial forecasting.

* Recruit, train, and develop a top tier sales organization and management team that is capable of optimizing and achieving the Company's growth objectives.

* Support the Gas Business Unit leadership team, as directed, on matters of alignment, integration, and governance, including requirements such as project sanctioning, process design, monthly performance reporting, etc.


Technical Knowledge/Skills: Proven track record managing sales operations, market research, and integrated business processes. Must have previous leadership experience and responsibility for sales and marketing, Knowledge of gas operations is a plus!

Education: BS in Business, Marketing or Management. MBA is strongly preferred.


* 10+ years of business experience that is pertinent to the functions and expectations described above.

* 5+ years of management experience. Must have demonstrated ability to deliver performance through a team of professionals.
