**Description:**

Position Purpose:

Responsible for creating substantive and persuasive responses to unique and challenging healthcare medical Request for Proposals \(RFPs\) questions for new and existing customers while operating within the specified sales deadlines\. Portray Cigna in the most favorable manner by crafting accurate, competitive and compelling responses to customer and broker proposal questions across all sales segments\. Utilize internal proposal library and Subject Matter Experts \(SME\) across the organization to craft responses which help clients understand the advantages and differentiation of Cigna in order to sell business\. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with SMEs across the organization, including partnering to answer questions on highly visible and complex RFPs\. Serve as an internal department SME who delivers direction and strategy for responses to proposal questions\. Partner with internal peers to proactively identify edits to existing proposal library content or the need for new proposal library content\. Partner with SMEs and internal peers to develop training on new or emerging products\.

Primary Accountabilities:

+ Create strategic marketing proposal responses to customer and broker proposal questions in order to win or retain medical business, including; writing, editing, and formatting responses to proposal questions to help clients understand the advantages and differentiation of Cigna\.
+ Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of Cigna products, administrative proposal processes and new Cigna initiatives as they are introduced\.
+ Have a thorough understanding of the National, Regional, Government/Taft\-Hartley Segment alignments, including market specific selling styles\.
+ Utilize internal proposal library and Subject Matter Experts \(SME\) across the organization to craft responses to proposal questions which help customers understand the advantages and differentiation of Cigna in order to sell business\.
+ Edit proposal responses to ensure focus on Cigna strategic themes\.
+ Provide alternatives and/or suggestions that communicate Cigna's position in a compelling manner\.
+ Use solid technical and persuasive marketing writing skills that clearly 'sell' products and services\.
+ Demonstrate advanced research capabilities in order to develop responses to complex customer and broker proposal questions\.
+ Manage strong working relationships with designated Subject Matter Experts \(SME\) to create responses to questions on highly visible and complex RFPs that are accurate, persuasive and timely\.
+ Serve as an internal department Subject Matter Experts \(SME\) who delivers direction and strategy for responses to proposal questions\.
+ Provide timely and consistent communication to matrix partners, both written and verbal; obtain information needed to support RFP's and offer feedback to matrix partners on information provided regarding the impact \(negative and/or positive\) to the sales process\.
+ Partner with internal peers to proactively identify edits to existing proposal library content or the need for new proposal library content\. Including gathering all pertinent details required in order to create new or edit existing proposal library content\.
+ Partner with SMEs and internal peers to develop training on new or emerging products\.
+ Demonstrate and maintain expert knowledge of assigned proposal topic\(s\), including existing medical products, administrative processes, and new initiatives as they are introduced\.
+ Follow all appropriate internal processes and procedures including updates to internal tracking tools\.
+ Drive for newer, better and faster ways of completing each RFP question, seeking opportunities to add value to each RFP\.
+ Regularly research all applicable communication material \(newsletters, web pages, organizational announcements\) to enhance and build subject matter knowledge\.
+ Find creative ways to share information and knowledge obtained by working with partners in product, training and other applicable service areas\.
+ Actively participate in process improvement initiatives ensuring that project related tasks meet project expectations of quality and timeliness\.

**Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree \(Communications, Sales, Marketing, English, Creative Writing or related field preferred\)
+ Strong writing skills
+ Prior healthcare or proposal experience
+ Thorough understanding of Cigna's brand, products, services, audiences and selling channel to ensure consistent reflection in the development of all proposal responses
+ Ability to be innovative, creative and possess strong research, analysis and problem solving skills
+ Results\-oriented and solution focused
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Strong relationship management skills with the ability to foster collaboration and value other perspectives
+ Must be a team player with proven ability to manage strong working relationships within a highly matrix environment and with all levels across the organization
+ Demonstrate strong customer focus, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
+ Individual must be energetic and possess a can do will do attitude, remaining focused on the customer and always meeting the established deadline
+ Ability to work under tight timeframes and prioritize multiple deliverables with competing deadlines
+ Prior experience successfully working in a fast paced deadline driven environment
+ Strong personal computing skills, including Word, Excel and Access
