This is an office based role in Hartford, CT.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to attorneys in a manner consistent with the highest levels of performance and professionalism within the Legislative Analysis Unit of Aetna.

Fundamental Components:

The successful candidate for this Administrative Assistant position will work in the Legislative Analysis Unit. The Administrative Assistant will:

* Independently perform varied administrative duties related to functional areas such as in-taking and logging legal requirements and information, vendor support and problem resolution, and preparing communications and reports.

* Interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and all vendors.

* Make meeting arrangements and handle mail.

* Create/prepare materials and reports, e.g., PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, meeting agendas, and communications and ensure distribution to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.

* Review documents to ensure accuracy and quality, and revise as needed.

* Create, manage, and facilitate access to office documents in accordance with enterprise records management procedures and internal team processes.

* Create, maintain and update SharePoint sites and shared drives.

* Work effectively as an integral member of a team

* Operate and maintain office equipment.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

* 2-5 years experience within corporate healthcare or insurance environment or within law firm specializing in health related law is desired

* Previous administrative experience within a corporate law department, law firm, or compliance department is required.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills are required

* Adaptability to shifting work demands is required

* Expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and use of technology is required

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
