POSITION SUMMARY

Aetna, one of the nation's leaders in health care, dental, pharmacy, group life and disability insurance, and employee benefits, seeks a highly motivated paralegal for its intellectual property legal team.

Fundamental Components:

Managing Aetna's and its subsidiaries' IP asset portfolio, including international and U.S.

Trademarks, Domain names and Copyrights; providing support to brand, advertising, digital media and social media business clients

Reviewing and drafting legal documents

Conducting legal and investigative research and analysis with respect to IP and technology law-related issues

Participating in or managing IP and technology-related projects and initiatives

Assisting with IP transactions and due diligence matters in mergers and acquisitions

Managing an IP software database system to track due dates, generate reports, and docket trademark and domain name data

May develop procedures, processes or guidelines for practice and/or client area, including identifying, evaluating and balancing clients' risks

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

7 to 10+ years of relevant legal and business experience, including demonstrated proficiency in IP law, with special emphasis on U.S. and international trademarks and domain names

EDUCATION

Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Legal/Paralegal Certificate is desired
