UTC Aerospace Systems is seeking a self-guided professional to manage maintenance level repairs for the F135 Propulsion System Controls & Accessories.

The Maintenance Manager shall be responsible for the daily management and continued improvement of maintenance level repair logistics through the practical application of the ACE operating system fundamentals.

Primary tasks to include:

* Coordinate repairs at Interim Contractor Support (ICS) sites in Windsor Locks, CT; Rockford, IL; Phoenix, AZ in the execution of a full rate F135 component repair;

* Drive relentless root cause analysis and corrective action to address material and / or resource shortages;

* Assist with planning for warehousing and distribution services in support ICS maintenance activity.

The Maintenance Manager shall manage the following aspects of repairs:

* Implementation of a standard repair process flow for all F135 Controls & Accessories;

* Planning and execution tied to the maturation of the F135 repair cycle process;

* Non-Serviceable Asset Management;

* Spare material scrap and material demilitarization; and

* Customer Owned Property accounting.

Qualifications A qualified candidate for this position should demonstrate initiative and the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in both a direct line supervision and matrix organization, as well as possess outstanding leadership/interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. He or she will have the opportunity to interface with executive management on the status of Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) repair process and asset status for F135 controls and accessories. He or she will actively direct operational and organizational performance.

Demonstrated experience (2+ years) in aerospace engine repairs, asset management or material planning. Working knowledge of UTC internal supply policies, practices, and standard work is highly desired, as is proficiency in the complete range of SAP spares-related transactions. Familiarity with engineering bills of material, spares configuration management databases, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), asset Service Limits, exchange pools/processes and spares provisioning tables is a plus.

Individual is expected to be able to organize, logically analyze and present information that may be pulled in from several systems. A working knowledge of current Department of Defense material and logistics support concepts is beneficial. A successful applicant must be able to demonstrate work experience that details examples of self-starting ability, initiative, and capacity to drive complex issues to closure while working in a team environment.

It is expected that the candidate will be comfortable working with technical, contractual and financial data, and drawing conclusions based on his or her analysis. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional disciplines across multiple UTAS manufacturing locations, external customers and government representatives including operations, ACE (process improvement), contracts administration, engineering, finance, sales and marketing.

Required Skills:

* Desire and ability to coordinate activities and communicate cross-functionally is mandatory

* Strong computer fluency with common Microsoft applications and operating systems (Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Project is critical)

* Ability to successfully extract and analyze qualitative data from various sources

* Ability to identify conclusions and actions based on analysis of data

* Ability to manage daily tasks and schedule

Preferred Skills:

* Ability to engage in hands-on process development / transformation

* Knowledge / understanding of the standard work tool

* Knowledge / understanding of process improvement methods and tools

* Knowledge / understanding of modern data analysis programs


* Bachelors or Masters candidates with a concentration in one of the following areas: Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Process), Program Management, Operations Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, or Supply Chain Management.

* BA/BS degree w/4-7+ years experience

* MA/MS degree w/2-5+ years experience
