A manufacturing company is seeking an experience Buyer in the Manufacturing industry who will work under direction of VP of Manufacturing, prepare and place purchase orders for a variety of materials, services and supplies. Work from approved requisitions with established quality and quantity requirements. Perform all clerical/administrative functions for purchasing. ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive and review requisitions requesting goods or subcontractor services, convert to purchase orders and place orders with pre-qualified vendors.
Regularly check KanBan quantities of critical materials required for production. Procure materials or other goods to maintain adequate inventory for production.
Jointly coordinate the timing and purchasing of bulk materials (Albea) and required subcontracting services with production personnel.
Enter purchase orders in computer system. Maintain procurement records, such as price, product quality, delivery changes or performance in system. Maintain up-to-date and accurate files in system.
Working hours: 8-5 M-F
Work closely with Quality department, researching and reviewing new sourcing opportunities and approving subcontractor qualifications, such as ITAR, NADCAP and ISO certifications/licenses.
Review shipping and courier costs and negotiate and source for better terms where feasible.
May assist other departments and provide backup support such as assisting the receiving department as required, or accounting department, verifying paperwork and approving invoices for payment.
Oversee the work of the receptionist, giving direction and feedback on performance as required.

Must have working knowledge of PCs, email and internet, word processing, and spreadsheet software (Excel).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate-s degree required. 3-5 years- experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
