Reports to: SVP, Retail

Overview: The Visual Merchandising Director is responsible for collaborating with Marketing, Merchandising, and Planning to create a streamlined and consistent visual direction in all Retail and Outlet Stores that support the company standards, business initiatives, and brand identity.


* Responsible for partnering with merchandising and planning teams to ensure

business initiatives are supported in all Retail and Outlet visual merchandising sets.

* Responsible for partnering with marketing and catalog to ensure a consistent vision is communicated through merchandising, windows, and styling. Oversee and sign off on all prop purchases that work back to this vision.

* Responsible for finding seasonal props that work back to the VV brand strategy and support key business initiatives. Props will update quarterly- following the catalog inspiration.

* Responsible for partnering with catalog and merchandising teams to create quarterly window updates that support business initiatives, catalog inspiration, and brand identity.

* Partner with merchandising and allocation teams to develop product distribution and tiering strategies that support brand identity. This could include handpicking assortments for small square footage stores.

* Write and maintain the Visual Merchandising/Creative Services calendar. Share this calendar with appropriate VV team members.

* Oversee the Retail and Outlet Visual Merchandising teams.

* Oversee the VV Visual budget. Partner with the Senior Financial Retail Analyst to create yearly budgets that support VVR Corporate initiatives.

* Review the Monthly interior compass document to ensure brand identity and

business initiatives are supported. Continue to evolve this document as a one stop visual training tool.

* Lead weekly visual call with the visual field team.

* Oversee the creation and maintenance of the Visual Standards document.

* Partner with the design and merchandising teams to create the line review

presentation. Apply this presentation to the compass sets.

* Assist merchandising in line review to ensure product choices work for in store

styling/outfits, and sku counts fit in store merchandising fixtures.

* Partner with the marketing team on the creation and installation of all PR presentations. Ensure presentation represents design vision.

* Partner with retail vice president/architecture/store design consultants regarding store layouts and fixture design to ensure new store layouts and fixture blocks work for business needs. Responsible for remapping layouts to ensure new stores receive proper fixture counts.


* 8+ years of related experience

* 5+ years of management experience

* Both visual merchandising and creative background- Windows, displays, etc

* Reorganize and communicate changes within display

* Strong Presentation Skills

* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

* Strong interpersonal communication

* Ability to plan, manage time, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
