Position Summary:
Sells building products to contractors & builders at their place of business: Advises customer on tools, hardware, and materials needed, and procedure to follow to complete task customer wishes to perform. Informs customer about quality of tools, hardware, lumber and other related materials. Handles telephone calls from customers answering questions about products, inventory and related information.

Position Requirements:
The incumbent must be flexible and adaptable to the changes that rapidly affect this position. Sales positions require exceptional customer service and problem solving skills. Product knowledge is critical as well as awareness to inventory levels. Ability to work computer register and operate keyboard. Answer telephones and respond to customer's needs. Need to perform mathematical functions.
Duties Include:

Establishing Accounts
Pursue new customers devoting at least 20% of your time during the week to the solicitation of new business.
Solicit clients that are not current customers and might not become customers in the absence of your of outside sales efforts.
Pursue sales leads generated through your manager's office, other customers, or employees of Ring's End.
Encourage current under performing house accounts to obtain full potential.
Service an established house accounts determined to be best served by an outside representative whether by the request of the customer, another sales representative, or company management.
Customer Service
Sell the maximum output of allotted products at authorized prices, and in accordance with established merchandising plans and policies
Correspond with regular customer contacts and potential customers promoting the sale of Ring's End products
Cooperate with the credit department in obtaining customer credit information and aid in collecting delinquent accounts
Provide feedback to marketing/purchasing concerning the market needs for new improved products and services, changes in competitive policies, and strategies relating to products and markets, channels of distribution, advertising and promotion, pricing and sales activity
