Pepsi Beverages Company (PBC) is PepsiCo's beverage manufacturing, sales and distribution operating unit in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This position will be part of the North American Beverage organization.

This position can be based out of White Plains,NY or Philadelphia, PA

This position reports to the Northeast Region Small Format Sr. Key Account Manager. The Small Format Category Analyst is accountable for the development, communication, implementation, auditing and scorecarding of strategic business plans for Convenience and Gas customers. As leader of PBC's reporting agenda, the Small Format Analyst must identify business trends, economic conditions, customer developments, competitive activities, historical learning, and technical developments and highlight the potential impact to PBC objectives.

Ultimately the individual is challenged to deliver reporting solutions and provide input into category strategies that will position PBC as "Best-in-Class".

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyze business trends and provide input toward an effective category sales and profit growth strategy

* Manage the measures and inputs for the category review process to ensure distribution, shelving and pricing objectives are achieved

* Apply knowledge of category and consumer insights along with best practices to create solutions to satisfy both PBC and account strategies and objectives

* Manage Retail Sales Team periodic reporting as required; function as a lead for all reporting requests both internal and external

* Monitor progress towards achievement of business objectives and defectiveness of tactics, recommend improvements

* Develop category, customer, consumer and competitive understanding and translate into strategies and solutions that maximize PBC revenue and profit

* Develop an understanding & leverage all analytic tools to support Category Management for the North East Region locally managed accounts

* Support the creation of the CDA Selling story for Small Format


* Thorough understanding of the marketplace environment impacting the customer.

* Strategic Insight, Business Planning, Conflict Management, "Evenness Under Fire", Savvy Communication, Strong Technical skills, and Influence Management.


* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience; Bachelor's Degree Preferred

* 2+ years previous account management, category management, shelf management or business analysis experience in consumer products goods industry;

* Knowledge of consumer brand marketing;

* Self-starter, able to work independently on projects

* Technical expertise with Nielsen Workstation Plus;

* Technical expertise with space management software (e.g. Spaceman/ Apollo /ProSpace) an asset

* Extremely strong Excel & PowerPoint skills

* Strong communication and presentation skills

* Solid organizational and project management skills - able to establish priorities, strong detailed execution and ability to multi-task;

* Strong analytical skills, able to synthesize information to develop understanding and insights

* Creative thinker who can bring innovation to projects and processes;

The work environment for this position demands some travel, at times expanded time requirements outside normal work week to deliver results, time pressures to complete necessary work requirements. Thorough knowledge and extensive use of technology supporting business management practices.
