We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our Neuroscience Department, devoted to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for CNS diseases. We are seeking a candidate with cellular and molecular biochemistry expertise and solid background in neuroscience to conduct both in vivo and in vitro studies. The candidate will work on target research, validation and new technology development and provide scientific and technical support in the discovery, characterization, and preclinical development of novel products targeting neurodegenerative brain disorders.


The person in this role will design and conduct experiments to support immunization preparation; assay development and target validation for projects on CNS diseases. They will perform molecular and biochemical studies to understand and utilize the mechanisms of blood brain barrier, as well as develop new technology on delivery therapeutics across the BBB to treat CNS disorders.

Essential lab duties for the candidate include, but are not limited to:

• Molecular cloning and PCR

• Western blot and ELISA

• Immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry

• Cell culture for both immortalized cell lines and primary neuronal cells

• Cell based assays (such as FLIPR and luciferase reporter assay)

• Animal tissue dissection

Additionally this person will perform advanced data analysis as well as trouble shooting under minimal supervision, keep up-to-date and well-organized records of experiments, and communicate and report study findings at meetings.


This position requires a MS in Biology or a related field with practical experience in a research laboratory in the required activities. Industry or academic experience in biochemical, immunological, cell culture and cell-based techniques is preferred. Candidates should be highly proficient in Molecular Biology methods including molecular cloning, PCR, mutagenesis, sequence analysis. Experience in cell culture, and immunoassays such as Western Blot , ELISA and flow cytometry is also desirable. Previous experience on biochemical characterization of protein folding/aggregation will be a plus. Excellent verbal and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment are required.

This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.

Level is commensurate with experience.
