Sodexo is seeking a General Manager (III) / Director of Dining Services for a Senior Living Community in Hartford, CT. This experienced Food Service Director has excellent interpersonal skills, enjoys working with seniors and managing people and the dining experience through quality of life initiatives. Position has an active role in managing the daily events and operations related to dining, customer service, cost controls, and will provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively with several generations in the workplace to exceed resident and client expectations. Reporting to the District Manager, the ideal candidate has previous experience training and developing staff, coordinating customer service programs in a Senior Dining environment.

Ideal Candidate Skills and Certification:

Some College / Trade School and Servsafe Certified

Food Service Director with Culinary Experience

Healthcare / Senior Dining Experience

Working knowledge of HACCP and regulatory compliance

Computer skills to work in Food & Labor Management Systems

Financial skills for 2.5 million with use of financial software and cash handling

Experience managing other managers who oversee 35 Sodexo hourly employees

Fine Dining, Catering, and Retail Experience

Experience managing Kosher Kitchen & Dining is ideal!

Typical schedule fluctuates between 8am-8pm, some weekends/holidays based on business needs.

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 4 years
