General Summary:
The primary function of the Recruitment Specialist is to drive the recruitingprocess, present qualified candidates for openings in multiple areas to theHiring Managers and ensure a positive candidate experience. This person willeffectively utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills in a positiveand professional manner. This position reports directly to the Director ofHuman Resources and coordinates recruitment activities with Agency Directorsand Managers.

Detailed Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively screens and counsels internal and external applicants and manages the applicant process

  • Maintains a current and up to date listing of open positions coordinated with Directors and Managers

  • Familiarize self with needs specific to each program in order to appropriately place potential employees

  • Coordinate ongoing recruitment and advertising campaign relevant to staffing vacancies and needs

  • Conduct screening interviews, complete reference checks and facilitate background checks

  • Refer screened applicant to Director or Manager for final interview and hiring decision

  • Assist Directors and/or Managers to ensure candidate readiness for orientation process

  • Establish pool of qualified staff to fill open hours based on overtime statistics

  • Manage and coordinate staffing pool to optimize utilization of this resource

  • Establish relationships with other human service agencies to promote sharing of knowledge and resources in relation to employment opportunities

  • Any other duties designated by supervisors

  • Networks within client organizations, associations, local communities, and college and universities to generate referrals and source qualified candidates as needed


Recruitment Specialist

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least two years experience in the recruiting field; or Associate's Degree and at least five years experience in the recruiting field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with candidates and colleagues at all levels

  • Ability to work independently, with the ability to self-motivate and manage multiple tasks

  • Must have a strong commitment to quality and ethical behavior and maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Must possess exceptional organization, time management, administrative and customer service skills
