Media Sales offers local and regional advertising for businesses across a wide range of platforms, including interactive channels, on-demand services and cable television networks, powered by census-level data and cutting-edge data analytics solutions.

The Digital Marketing Specialist plays an integral part of the Digital Sales team. The incumbent will support the Sales Manager in meeting the goals of the department. S/he is expected to make daily contact via phone or in person with local small and medium business (SMB) market to find potential clients; have direct contact with clients on an everyday basis including placing cold calls. Once one has established a business relationship with an account, one will work with the business to retain/grow the business. The Digital Marketing Specialist would ideally have a passion for the digital world and be adept at using digital channels, such as internet search, video, social media in everyday life; be competent in the services and products that they sell and will be expected to attain any certificates required of them, such as Google AdWords, IAB Digital Media Sales Certification, etc.

The Digital Marketing Specialist will be expected to spend a vast majority of their time in the field and/or on the phone building their book of business. They will also be responsible for the following: meet and exceed aggressive sales goals and objectives; be measured based upon sales activities (prospecting and appointments) and revenue; demonstrate the value of SEM and SEO, Paid Search, Social, Mobile, Reputation management and Point of Sale (POS) solutions to new customers; develop sales strategies prior to contacting designated markets, using a variety of visuals, including Internet layouts and other sales aids; conduct Needs Analysis with prospects and formulate client recommendations, which are specifically designed to meet customer's needs and objectives; handle an aggressive schedule of daily sales contacts; schedule, organize, and prioritize work to meet both customer and company goals and deadlines; provide service after the sale to ensure expectations are met and exceeded, secure renewal and identity and follow up on up-sell opportunities; organize and prioritize workflow to meet goals and deadlines, as well as entering all activity into SalesForce.

* A college degree in marketing, advertising, business or related preferred.

* 1+ years' experience of advertising sales preferably with a proven ability to acquire new business.

* Demonstrated self-starter, proven leadership abilities.

* Ability to meet or exceed revenue goals.

* Ability to develop relationships with clients in person, via the phone and e-mail.

* Proven experience developing integrated advertising programs preferred.

* Excellent negotiation and customer service skills a must to close new business.

* Strong problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to develop and support solution-based programs for customers.

* Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to present research and proposals clearly in person, via the phone and e-mail.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Reliable transportation is required as one will need to be out in the field locally.
