The NYC Leadership Academy (NYCLA) is a nationally-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a clear vision: to support greater academic success for students across the nation especially the most vulnerable through high-quality school leadership. We are firmly committed to preparing and supporting educational leaders so they can catalyze and sustain effective change across their organizations and educate students effectively. We do this by building the capacity of education systems across the country to develop and support their own leaders and bringing a standards-based and social justice-rooted approach to leadership development. Since 2003, more than 40 school districts, state departments of education, universities, and nonprofits in 28 states have collaborated with NYCLA to prepare and support leaders who can transform schools and ensure all students have access to effective instruction and are nurtured socially, emotionally and academically.

JOB SUMMARY: The Designer and Facilitator is responsible for designing, developing and delivering highly effective professional development for all of NYC Leadership Academy's programs. This position will also be a lead member of design and delivery teams charged with generating innovative solutions to evolving challenges while building the capacity of clients (typically districts, states and non-profits) to deliver effective school leadership development. The Designer and Facilitator will support project planning, lead/participate in the development of context-driven client solutions, and be active in oversight of the quality of delivery of multiple consulting projects.

o As part of a design team and independently, lead design of programs and curriculum that meet the established client learning objectives and all NYCLA standards for quality curriculum design.
o Facilitation in this position will take many forms including co-facilitating, train-the-trainer in facilitation skills and providing feedback to others developing skills.
o Contribute to the development of tools and resources aligned to the program design and objectives
o Track and report progress against project plans and provide status of deliverables, highlighting emerging challenges and opportunities.
o Lead the planning and management of project workflow and help to integrate key organizational functions (i.e. business development, marketing, operations, research, and evaluation).
o Support the documentation and material development for communications with both internal and external stakeholders and for future clients.
o Contribute to the development of services and products.
o Contribute to business and partnership development activities including helping to define strategies, participating in business development meetings, helping to prepare presentations and collateral materials, and developing proposals for clients.
