The Competitive Research Consultant will support the Annuity, LTC and DI products lines. He/she will conduct both tactical and strategic in-depth analyses on products, services, and regulatory activity while gauging how industry trends will impact current and future strategies for the organization.,• Monitors regulatory environment and assesses the impact on the Annuity portfolio; recommends changes to align with market and strategic shifts

• Gathers, classifies and analyzes intelligence from a variety of internal and external sources

• Provides business leaders with trend analysis - both on the external market and internal data to determine potential pitfalls and opportunities for our current business

• Develops timely, effective sales tools to position our current and post-DOL Annuity portfolio

• Assess the LTC/DI portfolio and value proposition to align with the market

• Partners with external research vendors to influence their survey design, submit data on behalf of MassMutual and interpretresults when published

• Acts as a trusted partner across the key functions of Innovation, Product Development, Marketing, and Sales


• Bachelor's degree required and relevant work experience in Annuity, LTC and DI product lines.

• Proven ability to interpret large sets of data and effectively communicate data trends

• Capable of applying knowledge to handle complex problems; ensure data is carefully gathered and cleansed

• Ability to partner with key constituents to support strategic and tactical development

• Experience with relevant market research firms & databases

• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients at all levels

• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills

• A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
