Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

The Principal Analyst Wholesale Power will formulate specific research project objectives that meet the needs of
the sponsor. Establishes analysis requirements for a complex project or major inquiry or examination, including
interpretation, definition of scope, conceptual development, research design and project management. Describes a
range of options, makes recommendations and applies optimal solutions. Directs the research, analysis and
communication of results of other team members, oversees the coordination of analytic efforts to attain project
objectives, and directs and integrates the work of consultants. Delivers presentations of results to executive UI
management and others in a clear and effective manner. May represent UI's position to external audiences,
including regulatory or legislative forums, community and customer groups, and industry entities. May provide
direction and mentoring to support analyst if applicable.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

1. Reviews legislative and regulatory requirements, ISO New England market rules, and market conditions to
develop best-practice strategies for meeting UI's power supply needs.
2. Has a thorough understanding of power markets in New England, including markets for energy, capacity,
reserves, and independently assesses costs and benefits of various procurement strategies, and identifies
opportunities to reduce costs and risks to UI's customers.
3. Solves complex problems; performs high level analytics that answer key questions related to pricing, supply &
demand, credit risk, and the interaction between various markets.4. Anticipates customer and stakeholder needs; assesses requirements and identifies new solutions.
5. Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Connecticut's statutory clean energy
goals.6. Communicates difficult concepts related to wholesale energy to internal and external audiences. Develops

reports and presentations for various internal and external parties including UI senior management.
7. May be required to represent AVANGRID orally or in writing to regulatory, public and industry focused entities.
8. Leads others to resolve complex problems in non-standard situations and develop creative solutions. Guides
other analysts in the administration of power contracts and the reconciliation of complex pricing and supplier credit
9. Manages projects or teams to meet the company's power procurement goals. Manages RFP processes from
inception through successful completions, including the negotiation of contract and pricing terms.
10. Plans and manages the logistics of procurement activities.



Education & Experience Required:

* Bachelors Degree in a related analytic discipline including but not limited to Liberal Arts, Social Science, Computer
or other Science, Business required. Graduate Degree or post graduate coursework.

* 10 ten years of experience in one or more of the following areas: energy (electric/gas) procurement, wholesale
energy trading/marketing, energy supply planning, integrated resource planning, renewable energy, ISO/NEPOOL
markets, regulatory planning/strategy, credit risk management, and energy contract/supply administration

* Similar experience with corporate purchasing and contract management, energy accounting, and/or experience
with SAP functions related to purchasing, accounting and supply management may be partially substituted for
experience with energy markets and contracts.
