Job Description:

Small boutique law firm is currently seeking a highly motivated associate attorney, licensed in the state of New York AND the State of New Jersey, to join us at our White Plains location, who has 1-3 years experience in civil litigation and in insurance defense litigation.The candidate should have experience in insurance defense litigation, and have worked on general liability, premises liability, personal injury, and/or construction defect or site injury cases. Trucking litigation experience is a plus. The candidate must have a solid work history and the ability to work independently, managing competing demands and changing priorities. The candidate must also be able to show sound judgment and great attention to detail in managing cases, priorities, and deadlines and able to juggle multiple and complex caseloads; with emphasis in case management. Experience in plaintiff work is beneficiary but not necessary. Great work environment with an emphasis on collaboration. Associate will work closely with a Partner on each case.Position Details:1. Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations before trial, and examinations under oath.2. Defend by trial, arbitration or mediation all matters assigned, as applicable.3. Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.4. Render opinions on liability, damages and value as requested by the Claims Department.Candidate Qualifications:- License in good standing to practice law in New York and New Jersey a must;- 1 to 3 years of personal injury litigation experience;- Prior civil practice and personal injury litigation experience is preferred but not required;- Strong communication, word processing and MS Office skills;- Travels as required, including but not limited to, trials, hearings, depositions, company meetings and conferences;We offer a competitive salary, benefits possible.Our law firm is a proud equal employment opportunity employer.
