Job Descriptions:

Lincoln College of New England in Southington, CT is seeking a part time Instructional Designer. The successful candidate will possess an understanding of instructional issues related to teaching and learning in traditional, blended, and online courses, as well as experience using a wide range of hardware and software tools to develop instructional materials. This position requires working with faculty and staff to design and develop course curricula and instructional materials.

Required Experience:

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or closely related field.

  • Proven experience using educational instructional tools and applications used in an instructional setting to develop course content. These tools include, but are not limited to: learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.) and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint, Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate, etc.).

  • Proven experience designing and developing course content using instructional design principles, learning theory, and instructional technology.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, Instructional Systems, Education or closely related field.

  • Experience developing instructional materials for learning management systems, preferably Canvas.

  • Ability to successfully work with instructors and an understanding of the higher education environment.

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Awareness of the importance of-and the ability to develop-accessible Web-based materials.

  • Proven record of managing a productive work schedule including managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience developing instructional materials for learning management systems, preferably Canvas.

  • Ability to bring diverse and new perspectives and approaches in Instructional Design.
