EBA&D seeks a Production Planner for the leadership, management, and maintenance of the plant infrastructure and all related/associated equipment. This position is located in Simsbury, CT and reports to the Value Stream Manager, Electrical Systems. Responsibilities: The Production Planner manages the execution of daily production activities for the Electrical and Device Value Streams. This position supervises the area technicians and coordinates or performs tasks associated with product manufacture planning. Principal duties and responsibilities include the following:Development of the production schedules and maintenance of the production visual board in each area, illustrating the status of the production activates for current programs.Developing the weekly work plan for techniciansRunning daily Tier 1 (technician task meetings) and assigning / allocating workEnsuring team objectives are met and visible through maintenance of SQDC boardsLogging Safety performance and participationLogging MRBs and other quality issuesLogging on-time delivery of major tasks, revenue lines and customer commitments.Establishing daily targets for technicians and recording progress for cost analysisTracking execution of corrective actions and identification of systemic issues.Daily / Weekly presentation of the SQDC and Production visual boards to senior managementSupporting / facilitating daily team huddles (Tier 2 meetings)Supporting the maintenance of project / task boardsWorking with the product engineers and buyers to ensure material flow and production activity are aligned.Supporting the creation of production orders and associated build books as well as material issues, floor stock accuracy and production reporting.Monthly planning of technician and equipment resource loading / capacity planning utilizing MS project or MS Excel.Maintenance of technician training planEvaluating production activities for continuous improvement opportunities. Requirements:BS Degree in an engineering discipline is required.Experience managing execution of daily production activities in a high mix, low volume environment strongly preferredStrong planning and organizational skills with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of managementUnderstanding of risk management, technical design and manufacturing processesGood working knowledge of computer applications such as ERP/MRP, Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Power PointAbility to interpret and understand work orders as well as mechanical, technical, and electronic drawings, manuals, and other related documentationAbility to motivate people, particularly a production workforce environmentLEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferredExposure to Six Sigma variability analysis techniques preferred Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is an EO Employer-M/F/Veteran/ Disability.
