Production Operations is a division of Programming and Production and consists of several groups: Network Control, PCR, Studio, and Edit. Production Operations staffs the operational positions (camera, editing, master control, technical directing, etc.) that support domestic and international studio and event programming and network operations.

The Post Production Group utilizes its employee's knowledge, talent, and experience in video editing, storytelling, visual effects, sound production, graphic design, content production, media management, and technical workflow to create high quality content for distribution on ESPN's many media platforms.

The Coordinating Post Production Editor is an experienced, knowledgeable, and well-versed non-linear editor, who edits basic to complex content to support all ESPN Production groups, demonstrates mastery in the craft of editing, performs supporting functions including media ingest/conversion, graphics creation, audio production, and provides leadership in staff development and departmental project management. Responsibilities outside of this description may be required based on company and/or department initiatives. The candidate should be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.

* Minimum of 6 years editing experience acquired at a major market or network level facility.

* Computer experience with Microsoft office software skills

* Strong leadership skills and technical knowledge

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Leader in words and actions.

* Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

* Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications, Studio Production, Business, Journalism, or related field

* Vocational School Certification or related experience

* Utilizes strong leadership and advanced skills and abilities to complete projects from start to finish (ingest to output) using high profile non-linear edit systems, graphic creation, media management, broadcast routers, technical standards, media restore and ingest systems, After Effects, Photoshop, and Content Enhancement systems. These are for productions both on and off campus

* Staffs daily sessions for assigned projects including features, teases, packages etc.

* Utilizes advanced technical troubleshooting skills to evaluate, develop, and respond to technical problems and workflow issues

* Exceptional time and resource management skills

* Contributes and executes ideas to the creative direction of Producers

* Provides cross-departmental project leadership on assigned productions utilizing exceptional planning, organizational, and communication skills. Attends production meetings and coordinates project workflow and communication with management

* Participates in the conceptualization, creative direction, and execution of live action shoots

* Participates in remote assignments

* Researches, recommends, and teaches new technologies and workflow concepts

* Provides a significant level of training and workshops to less experienced staff members

* Adheres to all administrative responsibilities including time entry, daily shift reports, compliance training, and Performance Connection

* Recommends and adheres to all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

* Establishes and meets critical deadlines under changing conditions

* Completes special projects with minimal supervision

* Utilizes strong interpersonal skills and professional communication to ensure client satisfaction

* Conducts the highest level of quality control measuring and takes corrective action to enhance the on-air product.

* Expected to file reports, as necessary, on specific working conditions, equipment status, and personal development at the request of management.

* Required to take training classes and follow up with appropriate documentation as department or company guidelines dictate.

* Expected to fully participate in company surveys

* Demonstrates timely follow up analysis or problem solving with regard to operational areas or systems

* Expected to identify problems and implement solutions

* Displays an advanced proficiency & understanding of technologies and workflows, with full comprehension of complex information.

* Champions team building and offers mentoring to others in the operation

* Communicates regularly with direct Supervisor and/or Manager in compliance with departmental guidelines

* Communicates in a wide audience with management from other departments and external clients

* Collaborates with other departments to plan meetings and offer solutions to complex workflows and/or training initiatives

* Regularly document progress of goals and objectives online within the Performance Management system
