Department: Finance Job Description: Performs the daily counting of passenger revenues and the wrapping and distribution of bus tokens. Counts and reconciles the daily Information Booth receipts and prepares deposit summaries of all revenues from the sales and collections of passes and tickets. Performs other money counting duties as required. Work Schedule: Monday 8:00am - 2:00pm, Tuesday - Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm (noon) Examples of Duties: 1. Assists in performing of basic money counting functions on a daily basis that include emptying revenue mobile bins, operate money room machines and assist in the preparation of daily deposits for pick-up by the armored car service. 2. Follows all applicable policies and procedures for money room security, cash handling money counting and revenue information reporting. 3. Sorts and wraps bus tokens for public sales. Assists in performing periodic inventories of tokens in stock. 4. Balance daily receipts and assists in preparing various daily revenue information reports. Inputs information into computer programs that generate monthly revenue reports. 5. Prepares consignments of cash, monthly bus passes, 10-ride tickets and tokens for sales from the Information Booth, and reconciles daily sales. 6. Assists in performing other accounting/administrative functions as assigned in such areas as preparation of statistical reports, routine bookkeeping, preparation of accounting records and deliveries of bus passes and tokens to local vendors. 7. Work cooperatively with all levels of personnel. 8. Attends in-service training, seminars or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency. Provides training for Agency personnel as required. Actively participates in staff meetings, trainings, etc. 9. Has thorough working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures. 10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: 1. Minimum possession of a High School Diploma/GED. Additional training in secretarial skills, accounting, office computer operations, or other relevant areas is desirable. 2. Two (2) years of full-time experience with an emphasis on figures and accurate record keeping or bookkeeping. 3. Must have an acceptable credit rating necessary for bonding of employees who handle cash. 4. Physical ability to lift and carry coin bags and other items weighing up to 50 lbs. and to operator money room equipment. 5. Good work record is essential. 6. Ability to learn procedures that require a high degree of responsibility, accuracy, timeliness and precision. 7. The ability to prioritize projects and have excellent communication (especially verbal), interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
