Food/Retail Manager The Retail/Food Manager works under the supervision of the Store Manager (CC). This manager receives minimal direct day to day supervision and must rely on his/her own initiative and resourcefulness to accomplish. This person would be assigned the full range of personnel management responsibilities (scheduling, leave approval, performance standards etc. in accordance with the applicable guidelines/VCS policies. Duties also include the administrative controls, reviews, and processes relative to canteen operations. This manager would develop and implements local promotional programs. Works closely in support of Food and Retail operations. Though a Federal entity, VCS is a self-sustaining business receiving no annual appropriations. Job Requirements: 3 Years of Multi-unit restaurant/retail/operations management experience. Must be reliable, college degree preferred Strong Work Ethic Strong leadership skills through demonstration Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail oriented, well organized Can work as a team and independently Must have excellent written and oral communication skills Must be able to maintain and work with other departments within the VA medical center.
