Harlem RBI , an award-winning youth development organization, is seeking a Human Resources Manager . Reporting to the Senior Director of Talent, the Human Resources Manager plays a key role in planning and executing the day-to-day human resources functions at Harlem RBI and DREAM Charter School.

Roles and Responsibilities: Oversee the execution and continual development of the onboarding process for all new hires, including ensuring successful paperwork completion, benefit enrollment, and background checks;Support the organization's growth by assisting with the development of initiatives around compliance, compensation, benefits, performance management and HR systems; Ensure program and staff compliance with policies and regulations, including monitoring applicable state and federal requirements;Manage and analyze data around human resources metrics (i.e. retention, diversity, staffing numbers, etc.;Provide support and training across teams at both Harlem RBI and DREAM to ensure accurate record keeping and compliance efforts;Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure that payroll is effectively and efficiently processed and oversee the reconciliation of medical and benefit bills;Oversee the review, revision and consistent updating of the Employee Handbook and other relevant paperwork;Oversee all details related to vacation, paid and unpaid time off, sick leave, etc. to ensure staff is aware of these policies and that managers are upholding them;Maintain a high quality employee benefit program and recommend benefits to management team based on research and comparison of benefit plans;Assist the Director of Talent with employee relations issues and investigations, as well as issues related to liability risk and insurance coverage;Monitor the "pulse" of employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement by maintaining a true hands-on approach;Develop Talent Team staff to understand the scope of human resources, how it relates to their work and how the team can be further aligned with HR best practices;Play a key role in training staff to navigate difficult business challenges and address employee issues;Reinforce the culture that values strong management practices, team work and professional development;Promote employee engagement to enable a high-performing workforce with an unwavering focus and commitment to our mission;
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree in a HR-related field preferred;At least 3-5 years of experience required, preferably in a nonprofit or school setting;Prior management level HR generalist background and experience supervising a team;Superior knowledge of relevant federal and New York state employment and benefits regulations;Strong leadership skills with ability to integrate big picture organizational objectives and departmental objectives;Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, solution-focused manner;Outstanding time management and multi-tasking abilities;Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;Deep embodiment of Harlem RBI's organizational values of teamwork, diversity, integrity and fun.

Hours: Hours are generally 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM with some later evenings and weekends required.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
